In 2004 Andrew covered Amonasro (Aida)and King Aegeus in a newly commissioned opera The Minotaur, both for Scottish Opera. In May 2004 he sang Matthieu (Andrea Chenier) for Chelsea Opera Group at the QEH. Work in the 2002/2003 season included the cover of Gunther (G�tterd�merung) at the Longborough Festival, performances of Lully's Le bourgeois gentilhomme in London and Reims and in June 2003 Macbeth (Macbeth) for Surrey Opera. In 2001/2002 Andrew sang Lorenzo (I Capuleti e I Montecchi) at Grange Park and Don Alfonso (Cos� fan Tutte) for Pimlico Opera with performances at the Linbury Theatre, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and on tour. In June 2001 he sang Renato (Un ballo in maschera) for the Holland Park Festival.

In November and December last year Andrew sang Starveling (A Midsummer Night's Dream) in the Linbury Theatre for the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden conducted by Richard Hickox. Plans for 2006 include Argenio in Handel's Imeneo at St John's, Smith Square, a series of recitals in Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo and the title role in Nabucco at the Richmond Theatre.

Internationally Andrew sang Sharpless in Compagnia d'Opera Italiana di Milano's production of Madama Butterfly touring in Europe in 2004/2005 and performances also of Sharpless for the Tokatsu Opera Company at the Kameari Lirio Hall, Tokyo conducted by Steve Ellery. Other international work includes Escamillo (Carmen) for the Arts Council of Penang, Malaysia and Germont (La Traviata) for the Kuala Lumpur Symphony Orchestra, also in Malaysia; In 2002 Andrew took part in a nationwide tour of the USA performing Danilo (Die lustige Witwe).

Other r�les include Silvio (I Pagliacci) for Castleward Opera, The Vicar (Albert Herring), Masetto (Don Giovanni) and Ford (Falstaff), for English Touring Opera, Don Giovanni for Mid Wales Opera, Rigoletto, Onegin, The Count (Le Nozze di Figaro) all at the Holland Park Festival and Belcore (L'Elisir d'Amore) for First Act Opera International. Conductors with whom Andrew has worked in Opera include: Roger Norrington, Martyn Brabbins, Ivor Bolton, James Holmes, Peter Robinson and Mark Shanahan.

At the 2002 Osterfestpiele in Salzburg Andrew was the baritone soloist in two performances at the Grossesfestspielhaus of Beethoven's Choral Fantasia with Maurizio Pollini and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Claudio Abbado. As a choral soloist, he has enjoyed oratorio and concert appearances with choral societies and groups around the UK. His most recent appearances include Polyphemus (Acis and Galatea) with the City of London Sinfonia at St John's, Smith Square conducted by Hilary Davan Wetton, Carmina Burana for the Leicester Philharmonic Choir and also with the Trianon Group at Snape Maltings, Bach's Mass in B Minor in Romsey Abbey, Beethoven's Missa Solemnis in Wells Cathedral and Brahms'Requiem in Birmingham Cathedral.

Andrew Mayor was born in Manchester, and won a postgraduate scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music where he received various prizes. At the RAM his roles included Borilee in Rameau Les Bor�ades, conducted by Roger Norrington, and John Proctor in Robert Ward's The Crucible, conducted by James Holmes. His languages are French, German and Italian.

He lives in Leytonstone, London.
